CoolSculpting: Myths vs Facts

It takes discipline to keep a healthy body. Maintaining your health and tone requires a lot of effort, including eating a well-balanced diet, sleeping adequately (7-8 hours each night), and sticking to a daily workout schedule. However, regardless of what you do, a few stubborn fat layers won't go away.

To eliminate stubborn fats and achieve your fitness goals,  it's not surprising that cryolipolysis, better known as CoolSculpting, attracts thousands of people each year who are interested in eliminating body fat without undergoing surgery or restricted diets.

CoolSculpting: What It Is

CoolSculpting® involves employing freezing temperatures to kill fat cells that are located just under the skin's surface. To change the structure of the body, low temperatures are applied to particular body parts to break down fat cells.

This treatment is based on the same fundamental science as other methods for reducing fat, such as liposuction, other heat and sound-wave treatments, and chemical treatments.

Myths vs. Facts

It's important to know the CoolSculpting misconceptions, including which ones are accurate and which are simply misinterpretations, as interest in the procedure grows in the cosmetic industry.

Here are five popular myths regarding CoolSculpting® and what the facts are:

Myth 1: It is an alternative weight-loss method.

Fact: Losing weight and reducing fat are two different things. The balance between the number of calories you consume and the number you burn through exercise during weight loss results in a reduction in the size of your fat cells. The quantity of cells does not change, but the volume does. Loss of muscle and fluid can also contribute to weight loss.

When you reduce the number of fat cells in a region using techniques like CoolSculpting, you reduce your body's overall amount of fat. The results of CoolSculpting® include a more toned, sculpted physique or a reduction in body measurements, such as your waist.

Myth 2: CoolSculpting® involves surgery.

Fact: No surgery is required with CoolSculpting®. It is a non-invasive fat-freezing method that has been approved by the FDA. The cells are processed by the body's lymphatic system over a period of three months after the fat is frozen during the surgery, and they are then eliminated through the urine.

The length of treatment is 35 to 75 minutes. Most people will require two treatments spaced out by 30 days.

Myth 3: It is painful.

Fact: Since CoolSculpting is a non-invasive process, it is quite painless. For the first few minutes, you can experience a strong cold, numbness, or mild discomfort. Redness, swelling, bruising, and stiffness may occur, but these will disappear. Furthermore, there is no downtime, allowing you to resume your regular activities.

Myth 4: It only treats the stomach.

Fact: Different parts of the body respond well to CoolSculpting®. Besides the belly area, it effectively tones and shapes the chin, jawline, neck, arms, chest, bra fat, thighs, and knees.

Myth 5: The results aren’t long-lasting.

Fact: CoolSculpting® results are made to last. It uses an innovative patented technology over the skin to freeze underlying fat cells, which are absorbed through the body’s natural elimination process, resulting in noticeable and lasting results 2 to 4 months after the treatment.

Whether you want a little boost on your healthy lifestyle results or want to treat those fats that just won’t budge, CoolSculpting® is the perfect fat-freezing treatment to sculpt your body in time for summer.
