Celebrating the women of Laser Clinics New Zealand

The theme of International Women's Day 2021 is #ChooseToChallenge. Laser Clinics New Zealand chooses to challenge gender bias and inequality as well as honouring women's achievements.

Meet some of our sisterhood and read their stories about their career, families, and female role models:

Meet Renee, a Franchise Partner from Laser Clinics Takapuna

Describe your greatest achievement or proudest moment.

"Being a mother and building a family has certainly been the greatest achievement of my life. It’s truly the best thing my husband and I have ever achieved together."

What role do you think skincare can play in making women feel confident?

"Beauty is more than what we put on our face, it’s also the way we feel.  The right skincare can make a person feel beautiful and comfortable in their own skin, and when we feel comfortable, we feel confident."

Who is your greatest female role model, and why?

"I am lucky enough to be surrounded by incredible girlfriends, all of which I adore.  Each one of these inspire me to challenge myself, grow and develop; in both my personal life and within my business."

Meet Jacinta, a Franchise Partner from Laser Clinics St Lukes

Describe your greatest achievement or proudest moment.

"I set myself a goal in my early 20s to travel every continent of the world before the age of 30.  I accomplished this at the age of 29, Antarctica being the last continent for me to visit, best 10 years of my life!"

What role do you think skincare can play in making women feel confident?

"I speak firsthand when I say the moment you can leave the house without wearing makeup and feel confidant you've reached your skin goals.  The older I get the better my skin looks which technically shouldn't be the case and that purely comes down to the products and skin treatments I do regularly.   I love seeing our clients come in happier with each visit as they combat their skin concerns.  Your skin is what you see every morning you wake up - make it great!"

Who is your greatest female role model, and why?

"I would have to say all the women in my life. I make sure I surround myself with positive people and have some great female family members.  A mother who has an extremely strong work ethic, a sister who is super caring, and a sister in law who we thank god our brother married."

Meet Trudy, a Laser Clinics New Zealand Cosmetic Injector

Describe your greatest achievement or proudest moment.

"My greatest achievement was working through my social anxiety to become confident & self-assured. 10 years ago, I was a very different person and my anxiety held me back. For example, speaking to a complete stranger in a professional manner would make me feel so nervous to the point my palms would be sweating. Now I don't even think twice, I can stand up and speak in front of a group of strangers and back myself. For me, that has changed my life and has broadened the possibilities what I thought I could achieve in life."

What role do you think skincare can play in making women feel confident?

"In this industry I have seen that we are our own worst critics & have women come in with various skin issues that are wreaking havoc on their self-confidence.  Generally, after skin treatments I see them return wearing less make-up & feeling good about themselves. So, to me the two go hand in hand."

Who is your greatest female role model, and why?

"My greatest female role model would have to be Julie Horne. Not only because she is an amazing Cosmetic Injector, but she is also a nurse and a female leader a business and medical world that is dominated by men. I love nothing more than seeing a female boss defying the odds and leading the way."

Meet Tasmiyah, a Laser Clinics New Zealand Team Leader

Describe your greatest achievement or proudest moment.

"Shaving my head. It liberated me in ways I can't even describe. I'm now growing it back after 2 years."

What role do you think skincare can play in making women feel confident?

"Having a personalised skincare routine can make a world of difference to a woman feeling strong and confident. Even better, great skin"

Who is your greatest female role model, and why?

"There are too many women out there that I admire to narrow it down to just one. The beautiful team I work with are some of the most hardworking, inspirational women in my life."

Meet Sol, a Laser Clinics New Zealand Cosmetic Injector

Describe your greatest achievement or proudest moment.

"I believe that becoming a Registered Nurse is one of the best choices I have made in my life. It gave me the opportunity to create positive changes for other people. I started nursing in public hospital, I came across many that had life changing accidents happen. Helping others recover from accidents changed their lives, but it also changed my life as well. I have learnt to appreciate and cherish life more. Now, as an injector, I am able to creative positive changes to clients appearances and boost their confidence."

What role do you think skincare can play in making women feel confident?

"Healthy skin is the foundation of a beautiful face and women feel more confident when they look and feel beautiful. I explain to clients that adopting a good skin care routine is like brushing your teeth twice a day. You have to be consistent to maintain the results."

Who is your greatest female role model, and why?

"My greatest female role model is my mother. She has taught me to see the beauty in everyone."
