Skin Needling: how to prepare for the treatment (and prices)

We sit down with Laser Clinics Skin Therapist Sarah Kearns to ask her all about how to prepare for Skin Needling.

Q: What does the treatment involve?

Sarah: Skin Needling can be performed in two ways. Dermal Rolling, using the cosmedical DNC derma roller or Micro Needling, using the Wireless Tri-M Pen. When you come in for your complimentary skin consult your skin therapist will advise which option is best for you.

The 30-60-minute treatment involves applying a small roller made of tiny surgical needles to the surface of the skin. The roller creates tiny puncture channels that encourage an organic collagen renewal and regeneration response.  Skin Needling benefits also include stimulation of organic collagen renewal that is perfect for people that cannot undertake laser therapy treatments for skin conditions such as acne scarring.

Q: How do clients prepare for Skin Needling?

Sarah: Your therapist will create a tailored preparation plan based on your skin type. Adhering to your preparation plan is key to achieving optimum results from your Skin Needling treatment.

Q: What are the benefits of Skin Needling?

Sarah: Skin Needling is an extremely effective way to reverse the appearance of ageing on your skin. This treatment will reduce the appearance of scarring, pitting, pigmentation, purple skin, uneven skin tone and texture, fine lines and wrinkles – even stretch marks.

Q: Is there any downtime?

Sarah: Very minimal. Any redness and irritation will subside within 3-4 hours. Generally, by the next day, you can apply makeup again – mineral makeup is best suited

Q: What should clients do in order to maximise their results?

Sarah: For the first 48 hours, it’s important to avoid excessive sun exposure, saunas and exercise.

Aftercare may require Skinstitut Gentle Cleanser, Enzymatic Micro Peel, Rejuvenate 15, Age Defense 50+ & DNC Home Roller. Your skin therapist will advise on a tailored plan to ensure you get maximum results.

Q: How much is Skin Needling?

Sarah: Skin Needling for the face is currently on sale for $149 per treatment. This is a huge saving of $201 as it’s normally $350. This sale is on for a limited time so check out the T&Cs here.
